NOV is seeking skilled and motivated Application Engineer, Low Carbon Solutions to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the advancement of carbon capture, hydrogen, and other low carbon solutions processes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies that have a significant impact on reducing carbon emissions and creating a sustainable future. Engineers will support active client studies to promote technology offerings in the same low carbon solutions sector.
Technology and product offerings will be progressed to viable commercial offerings. Following client studies the same engineers will be taking the offerings to deployment and advancing solutions in the market place. This role spans early stage technology assessment to late stage deployment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work under the direction of the Low Carbon Solution team
Support global tendering as technical specialization lead for low carbon solutions technologies
Preform early study/concept work on CCS & Hydrogen applications
Support the standardization & development of the core product portfolio
Perform simulations, studies and develop heat & mass balances
Develop PFDs and P&IDs for low carbon solution technologies
Size process equipment (pressure vessels, 2-Phase Separators, heat exchangers, compressors, filters, pumps,
Participate and contribute to FEED studies
Support and build process expertise to bring forward commercial opportunities to market
QUALIFICATIONS:
MSc. in Process or Chemical Engineering, or similar (Essential) or BSc. In Process or Chemical Engineering with more than 5 years of experience in directly relevant areas
EXPERIENCE:
More than 3 years experience in the process engineering industry
Process engineering experience – P&ID design, HAZOP, process simulation, plant and facilities operations and equipment design
Experience with gas processing technologies is an advantage in particular with Amine system, PSA, TEG and Solid Desiccant dehydration systems
Experience with CCUS & Hydrogen technologies is an advantage
Experience in writing government grants for development programs is an advantage
Experience in the following industry sectors (Desirable one or more): Industrial Scale Process Equipment (compressors, pumps, vessels, towers, skids, packages, heat exchangers) Utilities (Power, Water, Waste) Chemicals Pulp and Paper Concrete Oil and Gas
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
Exceptional communication skills, in particular ability to create high quality engineering reports and deliverables
Detailed knowledge of process engineering documents and drawings (PFD/P&IDs,
Knowledge of process simulation (Aspen, Hysys, Protreat, Prosim, Unisim,
Knowledge of ASME and API standards
Ability to work independently and with the team
Proactive, adaptable, and flexible mindset
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office)
