YOUR TASKS
This project is a cornerstone of the renewable energy sector, designed to provide sustainable and efficient energy solutions. As an important future-oriented electricity hub where cables from both the 2nd offshore wind zone and future interconnectors with other European countries such as the United Kingdom and Denmark will arrive. The goals are to establish a new offshore high-voltage grid connection for offshore wind farms in Belgium’s second offshore energy zone in the North Sea and to accommodate future offshore electricity interconnections with other countries.
Our project partner is looking for a QC Inspector. Workplace is the Port of Schiedam and the Start date will be around August 2025 till the End of 2027. No offshore work is required. There will be a 3 weeks rotation.
You will be responsible for reporting all HSE and environmental violations to the Construction Manager. Additionally, they provide daily reports to both the Construction Manager and the QA/QC Manager. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the QC Inspector collaborates closely with the Construction Manager, Project Engineers, Quality Manager, and HSE team, among others. Their role includes assisting the project team throughout the construction phase with various tasks.
Your range of tasks will include further:
- Verifies or issues the relevant quality records and, where necessary, write non-conformances reports
- Coordinates the inspection and testing with the Contractor
- Coordinates with the Colleague inspectors for night work and weekends
- Actively contributes to the project team
- Reports any non-conformities and damages to the product or service
- Checks materials quality (wire, fitting etc.)
- Verifies special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications
- Orderly collect, check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out
- Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan
- Participates in risk based quality measures workshops
- Provide input to the QA/QC manager for the quality dashboard
- Lists improvement opportunities (lessons learned) throughout the project lifecycle
- Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site
- Follow up with the Contractor the recording of any snag items on the tool provided
REQUIREMENTS & YOUR EXPERTISE
- You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience
- Experience in the offshore sector is a must
- Experience with topside Fabrication is a must
- Education: Engineering
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
- Possess a VCA VOL/SCC for supervisors certificate
- Shall comply with client’s PPE and training matrix
- Own PPEs (i.e. safety shoes, safety helmet, hi-vis clothing, safety glasses, ear protection, work attire (long sleeves and pants) and gloves)
