Contract Manager

to join our team working for a better future. 

This position is permanent and the prefered location is Schiedam, The Netherlands.

What you will be doing 

You will lead and manage long-term maintenance agreement activities mainly within The Netherelands to ensure customer satisfaction and to reach set quality, financial, cost and time targets. As a Contract Manager, you need to have a customer, business, and service-oriented mindset with a problem-solving “can do” attitude. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and cooperative with excellent leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills. 

As Contract Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for assigned maintenance agreements
  • Proactive customer communication
  • Lead and coach the Agreement Contract core team
  • Lead, manage and deliver contract management activities towards customers, as well as internally within Wärtsilä
  • Execute assigned contracts in accordance with Wärtsilä guidelines to ensure that the contract management process and general management practices are done safely and efficiently and exceed customer expectations
  • Follow up and maintain customer satisfaction and ensure that agreed actions are taken
  • Follow up financial, operative and technical performance through reviews and reposting and taking necessary corrective actions
  • To be successful in this role we expect you to have:  

  • Background/Education in technical/commercial area
  • At least five years’ experience in contract management and/or sales, project delivery or field service.
  • Native Dutch and excellent knowledge of English both written and oral 
  • Proven technical experience in marine operations
  • Internal Combustion engine experience in marine operations
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills
  • Skilled in planning, target setting and reporting
  • Wärtsilä knowledge & business understanding
  • Contract Management and Process knowledge
