Responsible for leading and managing all cost control activities on a project.
To manage and coach cost engineers and cost controllers allocated to project team
To set-out and coordinate the cost activities on the project, including CASH planning, POC forecasting and manpower plans
To present monthly project financial forecast
Responsible for the timely and accurate issue of the monthly cost report
To assist and advise the Project (Controls) Manager on cost issues
To identify and advise on (contractual) opportunities and risks
In house coordination between relevant disciplines and/or departments for the project
To assist in evaluation and subsequent preparation of change orders, financial disputes and claim settlements
To contribute to good communication and team spirit
Analyse contract after handover and prepare financial Project Summary.
Ensure that project taxation is properly handled in conjunction with Tax Counsel
Prepare specific monthly reports at client or partner request.
Verify purchase requisitions (budgets, amounts and codes) before approval by Project Manager.
Issue NBVs and PBVs as necessary, in close cooperation with Project Control Manager.
Prepare project finalization. Provisions to be followed until project closing in accounting.
Prepare audit files for the semester review.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: Significant experience in cost management, project cost control, or a similar role, with some time spent in a leadership position

Adaptability – Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment and priorities

By the end of 2024 the current SBM Schiedam office will move to Groot Handelsgebouw in the heart of Rotterdam city centre, one of the Netherlands’ largest multi-tenant business buildings. Extensive works will make this space into the perfect location to showcase SBM Offshore’s new Rotterdam presence and identity, with modern office space design and our SBM office branding.
