ppAs a Specialist Mechanic at our Propulsion Workshop you will be responsible for the overhaul, repair, assembly and upgrade of all types of marine propulsion systems such as controllable pitch propellers, tunnel and steerable thrusters, oil supply units and more. This role is based in our Schiedam Propulsion Workshop. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerform operationally as a senior mechanic. /li liExecute specialized technical tasks including submitting improvement ideas or modifications, identifying root causes, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations. /li liServe as the technical expert contact and provide support to the training centre, delivering on‑the‑job training to field personnel. /li liSpecialize in one product type, such as tunnel thrusters, main propulsion, OD boxes, steerable thrusters, or underwater‑mountable thrusters. /li liAct as an on‑site expert overseeing repair procedures at third‑party workshop locations. /li liMaintain up‑to‑date knowledge of workshop best practices and industry standards, applying this knowledge to daily operations. /li liConduct failure analysis and report findings to engineering or management. /li liPerform corrective repairs to restore equipment performance. /li liProvide technical expertise to field technicians and workshop/senior mechanics on complex cases related to your product specialization. /li liContribute to the development and improvement of workshop processes, practices, and systems by analysing current workflows and collaborating with the training centre, field service technicians, and technical support. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liDeep technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures. /li liSound knowledge within the workshop specialty. /li liAbility to travel to other Wärtsilä locations to act as a hands‑on technical expert. /li liSpecialization in one of the following products: tunnel thrusters, main propulsion, OD boxes, steerable thrusters, or underwater‑mountable thrusters. /li liAbility to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions. /li liFamiliarity with industry safety standards and practices. /li liFluency in Dutch and English, written and verbal. /li liActive collaboration across teams. /li liAbility to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. /li liDrive and participation in continuous improvement initiatives. /li /ul pAt Wärtsilä we value, respect and embrace all our differences, and are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal employment opportunities; everyone can be their true self and succeed based on their job‑relevant merits and abilities. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
