Are you a technically minded professional who wants to grow into a key procurement role within complex engineering projects?
At Mammoet, the world leader in heavy lifting and transport, we work daily on complex technical projects. To strengthen our procurement department, we are looking for a Technical Buyer with knowledge of steel structures and construction work, who enjoys working with technology, collaborating with suppliers and supporting project execution.
In this role, the emphasis is on technical insight, ownership and close cooperation with engineering and project teams. If you already have procurement experience, that is a strong advantage. If you bring a solid technical foundation and are motivated to grow within procurement, we will provide you with the opportunity and support to develop your skills further.
This position contributes directly to the successful delivery of Mammoet’s projects by ensuring timely, cost-effective and technically sound procurement of critical components and services.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Managing and supporting technical procurement activities across projects and categories, including:
Independently executing the source-to-contract process for technical procurement within assigned projects and categories.
Procuring construction work and steel structures in close collaboration with project teams and engineers.
Requesting, evaluating and comparing supplier quotations based on technical and commercial criteria.
Selecting and contracting suppliers and negotiating pricing, quality requirements and delivery timelines within defined authorities.
Recording and managing procurement agreements and framework contracts within internal systems.
Maintaining supplier relationships and monitoring performance related to quality, delivery and compliance.
Ensuring accurate administrative processing and adherence to procurement procedures and governance standards.
Supporting projects with procurement analyses, reporting and spend insights.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes and supplier collaboration.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Completed education in a technical discipline.
2-5 years of experience in a technical, procurement or project-driven role.
Technical knowledge of steel structures is essential.
Affinity with category management and working within a procurement team structure.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders.
Structured and accurate working style with the ability to maintain overview in a dynamic project environment.
Good command of both Dutch and English.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is considered an advantage.
